Cisco I-Prize Update

Hi all,

As some of you probably know, I entered this year’s Cisco I-Prize competition with a good friend of mine, David Cummins. We have been fortunately shortlisted to the final 9 of 800+ ideas and are the only Australian team in the competition. This is the second time that we have reached the final of this competition and we are hoping that we have the winning combination this time.

We made our final presentation today and now have to wait until the I-Prize judges make their decision. John Chambers (Cisco’s CEO) and Marthin De Beer (SVP of Cisco’s Emerging Technologies Group) will announce the winning idea at the end of John’s keynote at Cisco Live on June 29 around 11:30AM Las Vegas time or (30th June 04:30hrs Sydney Time).

To date we have been involved with the local Cisco team and have so far been interviewed by the Australian Financial Review and participated via telepresence to the world expo in Shanghai.

I have attached a scan of the article from the AFR but just want to emphasise that whilst the interview was with me and I was representing Innov8, David is not a part of my business and he has his own day job with a different organisation. The competition is a culmination of four months of hard work between David and myself and we can’t wait to see if all the hard work, late nights and lack of sleep has paid off!

Once again many thanks for your support,
