What this site collects, and what it does not.

This site counts page views so we know whether anyone is reading it. It sets no cookies, builds no profile of you, carries no advertising, and shares nothing with advertisers. There is no sign-up, no account and no form.

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. For each visit it records the page viewed, the site that referred you if there was one, your country, and the broad type of browser, operating system and screen you are using. That is the whole list.

It does this without cookies and without storing your IP address, so it cannot follow you across other websites and cannot tell one returning visitor from another with certainty. The result is a count of pages and referrers, not a record of people. Because no cookies are set, there is no consent banner on this site, which we think is the better outcome for everyone.

We look at it to answer three questions. Is anyone arriving. Where from. And do they open The Build.

Your message and contact details are kept in Innov8's Microsoft 365 tenant, used to reply to you and to keep a record of the engagement, and not passed to anyone else. If you would rather we did not keep it, say so and we will delete it.

Innov8 uses a private tool at conferences and events, reached at innov8.net.au/app. It is not open to the public and needs a token to work.

If you hand over a business card at an event, we may photograph it and attach a short voice note about the conversation, so that the follow up is accurate rather than reconstructed from memory a week later. That image and voice note are uploaded to Innov8's own Microsoft Azure storage and emailed to us. They are used to follow up with you and for nothing else. They are not added to a mailing list, not enriched against other sources, and not shared.

This is the part of our handling that involves your personal information rather than a page count, so it is worth saying plainly: if you would like to know what we hold from that exchange, or would like it deleted, email us and it will be done.

The website runs on Microsoft Azure. Correspondence and documents sit in Innov8's Microsoft 365 tenant. Page view counts sit with Umami. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google to fetch them.
