Is the infrastructure keeping up?
The models race ahead. Can the build keep pace?
The models get a headline every week.
The infrastructure they run on gets a shrug.
Far less attention goes to whether the AI factories underneath can keep the pace.
And almost none to the question that actually decides it:
do we have the people and the experience, in this market, to deliver these builds and keep adapting them?
Because the builds are moving too.
- Modular and off-site construction.
- Evaporative versus closed-loop cooling.
- Designs that flex as the workload changes.
- Reusing GPUs that will hit end-of-life long before they should.
Every one of those is a delivery problem before it's an engineering one.
Here's the part that gets missed.
Delivery looks like a small slice of the build cost, next to the GPUs, the power, the depreciation.
But get it wrong by even a few weeks, and the business and its customers feel it.
Revenue that arrives late. Capacity that sits dark.
The models are racing ahead.
The real question is whether the people who build and run the factories underneath them can keep up.
Written from inside the work. The take is mine; the agent gathers, I judge.
