Power is not readiness
Energised is a milestone. It is not the finish line.
"We have the power" is not the same as "we're ready to build."
A line from a delivery panel last week stuck with me:
“…you can hold the megawatts and still be two or three years from running, because you don't yet have the infrastructure and the capability to deploy.”
Power is the commodity. Readiness is the work.
And the front end just got harder. In one fortnight:
the grid operator turned access into an evidence test,
developers were told to fund their own transmission,
and a fast-tracked campus picked up a state-first environmental objection.
None of those are engineering problems.
Every one is a delivery gate.
Land, power, connectivity, shell.
The power is arriving.
The question is who can convert it.
Written from inside the work. The take is mine; the agent gathers, I judge.
